Trebbiano Spoletino
Lorenzo Mattoni just might be the nicest guy in the industry, welcoming from our first conversation and incredibly hospitable when we went to visit Bevagna and his small and beautiful vineyard. Lorenzo comes from a great pedigree, his grandfather was the founding father of the DOCGof what we know today as Sagrantino di Montefalco. Lorenzo was born into a thriving wine culture and business but nothing was handed to him. When Lorenzo decided he wanted to continue with the family business his father sent him to Scotsdale Arizona to in sales with one of their importers. Upon his return he wanted to start off with the same plot of vineyard his grandfather started on and produced a very limited amountof Sagrantino, Sangiovese and Trebbiano.
